2026 Pure Mountain Flying!

Come mountain flying in the Soča Valley, Slovenia! In this camp you learn how to practice mountain flying safely while enjoying spectacular views in the Julian Alps. This event is suitable for first time mountain flyers as well as experienced.

2026 NEWS: We are hosting PMF PRO - the event ONLY for participants of previous PMF camps -where we provide a full day more of flying instead of the full day theory course.

Reel from 2025 Sept Pure Mountain Flying Camp

In Pure Mountain Flying we will fly nice mountain flying lines and perhaps do a fun innhopp or two. We’re aiming to fly at least three different mountains + a few innhopps when weather is not good enough for mountain flying but good enough for landing in a new fun place. We will divide you into groups fitting your experience level and wing loads.

For the 2026 camps Johannes invited the flying polymaths Andreas Mosling (NOR) and Matt Currin (US) to join. We base the event out of Skydive Bovec and we jump from their Pilatus Porter, which fits 10 jumpers. The event can host eight participants per camp and takes place three times during 2026.

New for 2026 is PMF PRO

These are camps specifically for those that have already done our full day theory course. Instead of the regular Tuesday-Saturday format we will do it Wednesday-Sunday - so five days of jumping instead of four. A short refreshed course will be held Wednesday morning. Price is the same for both camps.

Which dates will be PMF PRO and which will be PMF is not yet decided, and will depend on the interest I receive. In the registration sheet you will pick which camps you’re available to join. There’s a possibility that you’re only able to join a camp on dates when a regular PMF will be organised, in which case you’ll have to be there for the full course again, no exceptions. The more events you choose that you could join, the bigger chance you can join a PMF PRO.

We will probably know already in the early spring 2026 which dates you’re accepted for.

Dates

PMF#7 - May 20-24 - Mosling & Bergfors
PMF#8 - June 30 - July 4 - Currin & Bergfors
PMF#9 - September 9-13 - Currin & Bergfors

We expect a high demand and you should register as soon as possible. If you can’t join this event you can subscribe to The Skydiving Newsletter to get updates of future events.

What’s the plan?

Tuesday: Course
We meet at 11.00 for a thorough briefing day with seminars, using illustrations, video, practical exercises and more. We are not jumping on this day. By going into the theoretical depths of our activity and by giving time for you to ask questions and visualise the task - we believe that the investment will have great return in terms of your safety, comfort and enjoyment.

Wednesday: Warm up and maybe first mountain flight
We meet up at the DZ 08.00 and start the event with one or a few flocking jumps in the valley - practicing the techniques we will need to apply in the mountain flying. If conditions later allow we can begin with a mountain line or innhopp.

Thursday - Saturday: Mountain flying when we can, otherwise flocking or innhopps.
We fly the mountains when conditions allow and otherwise practice canopy flocking over Skydive Bovec or landing in new stunning areas around the valley. Mountains generally allow access in the morning and sometimes in the evening. Doing high pulls and flying formations is a pretty demanding task and we will most likely not do more than 4-5 jumps per day.

FOR PMFPRO: The event begins instead on the Wednesday and finishes on the Sunday evening. We’ll be jumping every day, just doing a shorter course repeater on the Wednesday morning.
